Bucket lists and death

Bucket List

Bucket List

Again I really didn’t feel for the Daily Word prompt so am using a prompt from the eBook instead.

Kick it
What’s the 11th item on your bucket list?”

Now ‘Bucket Lists’ and their link to dying has always repulsed me, the idea that you have to complete these tasks or die unfulfilled seems extremely harsh.

This still emphasises the cult of consumption in that if you consume products, ideas or experiences then you will be fulfilled and a good person and can die happy.

What it doesn’t emphasise is the time to take in the beauty of the world as it is and breathe without having to do or consume; it doesn’t emphasise the experience of social interactions and the comfort of friends.

So, no I don’t have a ‘Bucket List’ but do have a growing appreciation of the world and people around me wherever I am. Also what have the dolphins ever done to deserve people swimming with them.
